At every convention, there are three publishers I like to hit: Image Comics, Boom Studios, and Quirk Books. I was happy to pick up new books from each of them last weekend at BookCon (stay tuned for the rest), and my Quirk choice was one of their new collections, The Spectacular Sisterhood of Superwomen. 

Ms. Marvel is a gem of a superhero. In Volume Two, Generation Why, she combats a new villain with the help of two of my favorite surprise guests: Lockjaw and Wolverine!

After my total obsession with Midas Flesh Vol. 1, I knew I had to get the second volume. And now I need more.

I'm a sucker for mysteries (especially murder mysteries), so when I heard there was a new series with a young lady detective, I couldn't resist!

The Wicked and the Divine is the kind of book you wish you could read for the first time again and again.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is take a break from it all, pour yourself a coffee, and settle down with a great story. Ms. Marvel comes highly recommended from Team Jordandené!

I’ve honestly been putting off reading Maus because I knew it would be tough. It’s a memoir / biography written by cartoonist Art Spiegelman, interviewing his father about life during World War II. In this story, the Jews are mice, and the German armies are portrayed as cats and pigs. It’s a really important book that I hope everyone finds time to read.
